To implement the requirements of the POWERCHINA’s notice on “Ensuring Support for Personnel in Pakistan and Enhancing Security Measures for Institutions in Pakistan”, and to strengthen the project team's awareness of anti-terrorism and prevention, as well as their practical emergency response capabilities, Pakistan Haveli O&M Project Team collaborated with the owner to conduct a winter anti-terrorism and riot emergency drill on the afternoon of December 19. Special Protection Unit (SPU), on-site security personnel, and other relevant staff participated in the drill.
To ensure the successful execution of the drill, the project’s security lead and the owner collaborated with the SPU representative to plan and deploy the exercise in advance, jointly devising the drill plan and outlining the steps and requirements. During the drill, terrorists launched an attack on the project site from the outside. Upon detecting the threat, the project’s security team immediately activated the emergency response plan, set up temporary defenses, and requested support from the SPU. The SPU responded swiftly, arriving at the project’s main gate, surrounding the terrorists, and forming a pincer movement with the on-site security team to subdue the attackers. The drill was conducted in a tense yet orderly manner, with seamless coordination between all parties involved. The exercise was a complete success.
The drill tested the scientific rigor and effectiveness of the project’s emergency response plan and further enhanced the collaborative combat capabilities of the project’s security team and the SPU. Moving forward, the project team will continue to strengthen safety management efforts, ensuring the personal and property safety of all employees. This will provide strong support for the successful execution of next year’s major overhaul and the efficient fulfillment of project objectives.
