Safe Operation for 3,000 Days! Morocco Jerada O&M Project Delivers Brilliant Energy Supply Guarantee Report

2026-03-17

On March 6, Morocco Jerada O&M Project achieved a continuous safe operation of 3,000 days, marking eight years of operation without any major safety incidents and setting a new record for long-term safe production in power plants. This landmark achievement not only demonstrates the exceptional capabilities of our O&M team but also establishes an industry benchmark for China-Morocco power and energy cooperation.
This project marks the first EPC turnkey power plant constructed by a Chinese enterprise in Morocco, serving as the pioneering collaboration between China and Morocco in the field of power operation and maintenance. It plays a pivotal role in the country's primary power generation and grid peak regulation. Since the plant's commissioning, the Jerada O&M Project has consistently prioritized safety production, strictly adhering to the principle of "safety first, prevention foremost, and comprehensive management." By firmly establishing "bottom-line thinking" and "red-line awareness," the department has focused on critical aspects such as equipment hazard identification, on-site operational standards, and dynamic risk management. It has innovatively developed a three-dimensional prevention mechanism featuring "weekly inspections, monthly checks, and specialized inspections at key nodes," establishing a full-cycle, localized safety management system. Through rigorous implementation of protocols and high-standard safety controls, the project provides crucial safeguards for the long-term stable operation of the power plant.
As of now, under the meticulous operation and maintenance of  the company, a specialized commissioning and operation unit affiliated with Shandong Electric Power Construction Third Company, the power plant has consistently achieved its annual generation targets eight years in a row, with cumulative output exceeding 21.275 billion kilowatt-hours. This has provided robust support for local industrial production and residential electricity supply in Morocco, significantly alleviating the country's energy shortage.

Standing at a new security starting point, Morocco Jerada O&M Project will continue to strengthen the foundation of safety management, advance toward longer-term safety goals, and inject stronger momentum into the high-quality joint construction of the Belt and Road between China and Morocco with a steady power supply, while further enhancing the company's brand awareness and influence in the Middle East, North Africa, and East Africa regions.
