Emergency Drill Ensures Safety and Stable Production During Peak Summer Season Saudi Arabia Yanbu Phase III O&M Project Organizes Chilled Water Leak Emergency Drill

2024-06-07

To further implement the "Peak Summer Season" activity plan and ensure the smooth execution of the 2024 "Peak Summer Season" work, the Saudi Arabia Yanbu Phase III O&M Project organized a chilled water leak emergency drill on the afternoon of June 5. The project team, management personnel, and operation and maintenance staff participated in the drill.

The drill was based on a simulated chilled water leak from Chillers 4 and 5. When the alarm sounded, the operating personnel immediately reported the leak to the project leadership and quickly initiated the emergency response plan. During the drill, the participants had clear roles and coordinated seamlessly. They conducted a simulated exercise covering the alarm and emergency response following the trip of Chillers 4 and 5, the initiation of the emergency response plan, leak inspection and isolation, chiller restart, and subsequent maintenance. The drill comprehensively tested the project's emergency response capabilities and achieved the desired outcome.

After the drill, Liu Chonggang, the O&M Project Manager, delivered a summary speech. He emphasized that the continuous high temperatures in Saudi Arabia make the safe and reliable operation of the cooling system crucial. During the "Peak Summer Season", all departments must strengthen their safety production responsibilities, further enhance the inspection and maintenance of the cooling system, ensure the normal supply of chilled water throughout the plant, and strictly prevent safety production accidents.

This drill tested the scientific validity and operability of the project's emergency plan, effectively enhancing the unity, cooperation, and practical skills of the O&M team. It provided strong assurance for the safe and stable operation of equipment during the Peak Summer Season.
