SA Ras Al Khair Project Successfully Finishes NDC Testing for Desalination Plant
2025-11-29
On November 27, the Ras Al Khair Project in Saudi Arabia announced a successful achievement—the completion of the NDC (Maximum Net Output Capacity) test for its accompanying seawater desalination plant. To celebrate this significant milestone, the owner’s representative and the project operation guidance team held a ceremony in the Control Center Room (CCR). The owner highly praised and commended the project team for their outstanding performance during the NDC test.
At the celebration ceremony, Majeed, the manager of the Owners’ Operation Department, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the project team of Huafeng Weiye Company for their professional technical support and high-quality services. During the testing phase, the project team, based on on-site conditions, comprehensively identified key defects affecting load performance, such as low boiler reburn system utilization rates, frequent tripping of gas turbine evaporative cooling pumps, high intake rate pressure differentials, and the lack of standby boiler feed pumps. They collaborated with maintenance professionals to systematically address these issues, ensuring the smooth progress of the NDC test. By precisely regulating the operational state of the gas-fired combined cycle unit, the project team achieved highly stable low-pressure exhaust parameters for the steam turbine, providing the optimal heat source for the flash evaporation unit of the seawater desalination plant. This played a crucial role in enabling the subsequent water treatment plant to achieve tiered and efficient energy utilization while surpassing its maximum water production capacity.
The complete success of this trial fully demonstrates the project team of the company’s outstanding technical capabilities and service standards in overseas project execution, earning full recognition from the client. Moving forward, the project department will continue to strengthen project execution and control in accordance with the company’s "Innovation in Management Year" initiative, promoting efficient operational guidance and maintenance efforts to further contribute to the safe and stable operation of the power plant and the high-quality fulfillment of the project.
