To further implement the company's production safety accident emergency management requirements and enhance the safety awareness and emergency response capabilities of the project, the Iraq Garraf O&M Project organized an emergency drill for a chemical spill accident on July 6.

The drill was based on a scenario involving a chemical dosing pipeline leak. When the inspection personnel discovered the leak, they immediately reported it to the shift supervisor. The project quickly activated the emergency response plan, dispatching chemical duty officers and emergency response team members to the site for rescue operations. Upon arrival, the rescue personnel promptly stopped the dosing pump and transferred the injured to the eyewash station for emergency treatment, while simultaneously conducting on-site decontamination and cleanup. The drill was realistic, and the entire process was tense yet orderly. The participants coordinated effectively, and the rescue measures were appropriate, achieving the desired outcome.

The drill tested the scientific validity and feasibility of the project’s emergency response plan, further enhancing the safety awareness of the operations and maintenance personnel. It also improved the project’s ability to handle emergencies such as hazardous chemical spills. Moving forward, the project will continue to conduct thorough on-site hazard inspections and remediation work, strengthen the maintenance and management of on-site equipment, and improve the overall safety management level. These efforts will ensure the safe and stable operation of the units.
