Building a Brand with Responsibility — Morocco Jerada O&M Project Praised by Local Government Authorities
2024-08-14
On August 12, the Morocco Jerada O&M Project received a letter of appreciation from the Moroccan Office of Vocational Training and Employment Promotion (OFPPT). The letter expressed sincere gratitude for the project’s outstanding contributions to the local economy and livelihoods over the past few years.
Since the Jerada Power Plant commenced commercial operations ahead of schedule, it has maintained continuous, long-term, safe, and stable operation for six consecutive years. As of August 2024, the total power generation of the plant has reached 16.968 billion kWh, providing a steady supply of electricity to Morocco's power grid. Since the commencement of O&M work, the project has actively implemented the "localization and international staffing" strategy. In line with the project's needs, it has recruited a large number of local talent, creating over 500 valuable jobs in the area. Additionally, the project has trained a significant number of skilled professionals familiar with the project's operations, effectively alleviating local employment pressures. During the project's execution, project has actively integrated into the local community, continuously offering vocational skills training to university students. It also organizes visits for local university students to learn about the advanced technology and management concepts of Jerada Power Plant, promoting the ideas of energy efficiency and environmental sustainability. Every year, more than 100 local university students receive training, which has effectively driven the localization and sustainable development of Morocco's power sector while establishing a positive image of Chinese enterprises.
This letter of appreciation not only reflects the gratitude of the local people but also symbolizes the efforts and achievements of the project’s O&M team in building the company’s brand. Moving forward, the project will continue to make efficient use of local resources, fulfill its responsibilities as a central state-owned enterprise, strengthen the connection between the Chinese and Moroccan peoples, and further enhance the company's brand recognition and influence in the Middle East region.
