Rizhao Shangang O&M Project #2 Successfully Connects to the Grid on First Attempt

At 15:06 on October 28, Rizhao Shangang O&M Project achieved a successful one-time grid connection for #2 after its overhaul. This accomplished the grid connection target two days ahead of the scheduled timeline, marking the successful completion of the 28-day C-class overhaul.
This C-class overhaul was a planned maintenance conducted after Unit 2 had completed 335 days of continuous, safe, and stable operation without any unplanned outages since November 1, 2024. It covered multiple professional areas including boiler, turbine, and electrical systems, cumulatively completing 157 items comprising standard tasks, special projects, and technical modifications. During the overhaul period, despite multiple challenges such as a tight schedule, heavy workload, and numerous overlapping tasks, the Rizhao Shangang O&M Project consistently adhered to the principle of "Safety First, Quality Foremost". Following the overhaul plan and schedule, daily coordination meetings were held to track the progress of each specialty in real-time, coordinate and resolve difficult and blocking issues, ensuring the orderly progression of all overhaul tasks. Ultimately, the project team completed the C-class overhaul objectives two days ahead of the planned schedule.
Currently, all main and auxiliary systems of Unit 2 are operating stably, with key operating parameters and environmental indicators surpassing design standards, significantly enhancing the unit’s health level and operational efficiency. This overhaul not only eliminated potential safety hazards but also comprehensively improved system reliability and economy through several technical modifications, laying a solid foundation for the unit’s safe and efficient operation post-overhaul.
In the next step, the project will continue to follow the working guideline of "Risk Mitigation, Contract Fulfillment, Management Strengthening, and Quality & Efficiency Enhancement", persistently improving its O&M technical capabilities and production performance fulfillment level to ensure the long-term, safe, and stable operation of the unit.
