Company Honored with Appreciation Letter from Sabah Kibing Power Plant EPCC Project
2025-10-17
On October 17, the company received a letter of appreciation from the EPCC Project of the Malaysia Sabah Kibing Self-owned Power Plant, which expressed full recognition and sincere gratitude for the outstanding performance of the project team during their handling of the high-temperature issue with the connection busbars in the high/low-temperature cooling water control cabinet at the Malaysia Sabah Kibing Self-owned Power Plant.
Since the commissioning phase handled by the company's project team, the Malaysia Sabah Kibing Self-owned Power Plant had been experiencing high temperatures in the connection busbars of the high/low-temperature cooling water control cabinet. Although preliminary treatment by the equipment manufacturer provided some relief, the busbar temperature still exceeded the design value, posing a significant potential safety hazard. To thoroughly eliminate the potential hazard, the project team fully utilized the "window period" of the unit’s planned shutdown for maintenance. They organized a joint investigation by technical specialists from electrical, instrumentation & control, and mechanical disciplines. Through measures such as disassembling and inspecting terminals, checking contact resistance and crimping force, and comparing design drawings, they ultimately identified the root cause of the problem. In response, the project team acted swiftly, replacing the crimping dies with suitable ones and re-crimping all 72 terminals in the cabinet according to the new procedure. After seven consecutive days of load operation testing, the busbar temperature in the control cabinet remained stable below 82°C, with all indicators surpassing the design requirements. This successfully eliminated the safety hazard and significantly enhanced the unit’s operational stability and safety, earning unanimous recognition and high praise from the EPCC Project of the Malaysia Sabah Kibing Self-owned Power Plant.
