Mr. Zheng Zhihong from Chinese Embassy in Myanmar Visits Myanmar Thaketa O&M Project

On July 24, Public Minister Zheng Zhihong from the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar and his delegation visited the Myanmar Thaketa O&M Project for investigation and guidance. They were accompanied by U Soe Thein, Governor of Yangon Region; U Bo Htay, Mayor of Yangon; Liu Ming, President of the Chinese Enterprise Chamber of Commerce in Myanmar; Yan Jiong, Chairman of Yunnan Energy Investment Co., Ltd. ; and He Yuxiang, Chairman of the owner Union Resources & Engineering Thaketa Power Co., Ltd. (UREC).

Accompanied by Wang Yongguo, Manager of the Myanmar Thaketa O&M Project, Zheng Zhihong and his delegation conducted an on-site inspection of the central control room, turbine room, and other production areas. They gained a detailed understanding of the power plant’s safety production, technical support system, equipment operation status, and maintenance management. Zheng Zhihong and his delegation fully affirmed the project’s production and operation management level as well as the achievements in operation and maintenance. He stated that the Myanmar Thaketa 110 MW Gas-Steam Combined Cycle Power Plant is a crucial energy project in Myanmar and one of the significant outcomes of China-Myanmar power cooperation. He expressed hope that the project team would continue to diligently carry out production and fulfillment tasks to ensure the safe and stable power supply in Myanmar, contributing further to local energy construction and socio-economic development.

This investigation and guidance reflect the high level of attention the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar has given to the Myanmar Thaketa O&M Project, further strengthening the understanding and trust between the embassy, local government, and the project. Moving forward, the project will continue to uphold the work style of "Active, Innovative, Responsible", continuously improving operation and maintenance management to deliver high-quality fulfillment and drive the high-quality development of the company’s overseas business.
