On July 22, the Philippine Meteorological Bureau issued a red alert for heavy rain. Affected by Typhoon "Crising," the location of Huafeng Weiye Company’s Philippines San Marcelino & Lal-lo Solar PV O&M Project experienced extreme weather conditions such as torrential rain and strong winds. To combat the typhoon, the project team responded swiftly and deployed a comprehensive plan to carry out flood and typhoon prevention measures, ensuring the safety of on-site operations.
Faced with the approaching typhoon and heavy rainfall, the project immediately activated its emergency response plan and entered a state of readiness for defense: First, a thorough inspection and clearance of key areas such as drainage ditches, water collection points, and perimeter fences were conducted to remove weeds, leaves, and debris, enhancing drainage capacity and preventing waterlogging risks. Second, critical equipment on-site, including power distribution rooms, box transformers, and module support structures, underwent comprehensive inspections and reinforcement. Measures such as adding sandbags and sealing gaps were implemented to prevent water backflow. Third, all teams conducted inventory checks of emergency supplies and equipment, replenishing items like sandbags, rain gear, flashlights, emergency power sources, and medical kits to ensure immediate availability. Fourth, based on the typhoon’s intensity and expected duration, essential supplies such as food, drinking water, emergency medicine, and daily necessities were stockpiled in advance to meet basic on-site needs for at least three days.
During the typhoon resistance efforts, the project strictly enforced a duty rotation system, with all O&M personnel standing their posts and collaborating closely to monitor weather changes and equipment status around the clock. Moving forward, the project will continue to closely track the typhoon’s developments, strengthen monitoring and early warnings for extreme weather, and further enhance emergency response capabilities for wind and flood prevention. Multiple measures will be implemented to fortify defenses against typhoons and floods, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the project.
