To strengthen the team's awareness of counter-terrorism, air defense, and emergency response, and to effectively improve evacuation and risk-avoidance capabilities, the Pakistan Haveli O&M Project organized an air defense emergency evacuation drill on May 9, with all employees participating in the exercise.

At 14:00 in the afternoon, the air raid siren sounded. The project immediately activated its emergency response plan. All employees promptly ceased ongoing work and, under the guidance of security personnel, evacuated swiftly and in an orderly manner along the designated route to a reinforced safety shelter equipped with emergency communication systems and life-support supplies, capable of withstanding conventional airstrike threats. During the drill, participants simultaneously tested satellite communication systems, first aid procedures, and other critical components, verifying the scientific soundness and practicality of the emergency plan. After the drill, the project’s armed security personnel conducted on-site instruction on the use of bulletproof vests and helmets, rope release techniques, and how to locate and access shelters. This effectively enhanced employees’ safety awareness and emergency self-rescue capabilities, and the drill achieved its intended goals.

As tensions between Pakistan and India continue to escalate, the security situation in Pakistan has grown increasingly severe. In response, the project has implemented a 24-hour security duty system to ensure smooth communication with the Chinese Embassy and Consulates in Pakistan as well as the POWERCHINA’s Representative Office in the country. Additionally, the project has established a joint defense mechanism with local military and police forces, comprehensively upgrading its security protection system. At present, the project has stockpiled food, medicine, and drinking water sufficient to meet wartime lockdown requirements. Special training has also been reinforced to address wartime risks such as airstrikes and stray bullets.

Moving forward, the project will continue to refine and improve its emergency response plans, provide timely psychological support to employees, and make every effort to ensure the safety of personnel and property, thereby safeguarding the safe and stable operation of the project units.
