Braving the Storm, Racing Against the Flood
2025-04-02
Since March this year, Morocco Jerada O&M Project has been affected by extreme local weather, experiencing consecutive heavy rainstorms that posed severe challenges to the safe and stable operation of power plant equipment. In response to the extreme rainfall, the project team acted swiftly, immediately formulating flood control and supply protection measures. As of March 31, four emergency plans have been activated, ensuring scientific coordination and precise measures to safeguard the safe and stable operation of power plant equipment.
During the heavy rainstorms, the O&M team closely monitored the operational status of the equipment, with a particular focus on flood control in critical areas such as the booster station and circulating pump house. In response to localized water accumulation in the plant area, the project team promptly activated the drainage pump station and organized emergency response teams to reinforce and divert water in low-lying areas, effectively preventing the risk of equipment flooding. All technical personnel remained on duty, increasing the frequency of equipment inspections and demonstrating an active, innovative, and responsible work ethic. As a result, no equipment damage or power outages occurred during the March rainstorms, successfully completing the flood control emergency response efforts.
Next, the project team will continue to optimize the emergency response system, further enhancing its capability to handle extreme weather conditions. This will ensure the safe and stable operation of the project’s units while driving the company’s high-quality development to new heights through excellent contract performance.
