Morocco Jerada O&M Project exceeds annual power generation target
2025-01-03
As of 00:00 on January 1, 2025, good news has arrived from the Morocco Jerada O&M Project. The total power generation for 2024 reached 2.6248 billion kWh, exceeding the annual target by 14.7%, with an overachievement of 337.8 million kWh.
Since the beginning of 2024, the Morocco Jerada O&M Project team has faced rare and sustained extreme high-temperature weather and severe power supply challenges in the region. The team has rigorously implemented the efficient operation of the air-cooled island spraying system, ensuring that the Jerada power plant units maintain long-term full-load high backpressure operation, providing strong support to the Moroccan power grid in managing peak electricity demand. Through a series of power supply measures, the project successfully completed the 2024 "Summer Peak Load Management" work, achieving a continuous 200-day "no downtime" operation record and effectively ensuring the safe and stable electricity supply for the eastern region of Morocco during the summer. In November 2024, the project team carried out a 15-day maintenance period, providing strong assurance for the subsequent safe and stable operation of the units. This received high recognition from both the owner and the local government, laying a solid foundation for the project team to exceed its annual production targets.
Next, the project team will continue to follow the work strategy of "mitigating risks, ensuring contract fulfillment, strengthening management, and improving quality and efficiency". The team will keep enhancing its O&M technical capabilities and production performance to ensure the long-term safe and stable operation of the units. Additionally, the team aims to further strengthen the company's influence in the North African region's commissioning and O&M brand, offering excellent performance to celebrate the parent company’s 40th anniversary.
