Promote Prevention through Performance, Prepare for Battle through Practice" — The Myanmar Thaketa O&M Project organized an emergency drill for natural gas leakage incidents at the booster station
2023-11-22
On November 21st, the Myanmar Thaketa O&M Project, in accordance with the safety production management arrangements of the Company and in conjunction with the deployment of the "Fire Safety Awareness Month" activities, organized an emergency drill for natural gas leakage incidents at the booster station.
This drill simulated the entire process of handling the shutdown and treatment of natural gas leakage in the entrance unit area of the pressure regulating station. The drill proceeded in a tense and orderly manner. Under the command of the emergency headquarters, each emergency team quickly took action, and more than 20 participants swiftly entered the "battle" mode. The operations department immediately reported to the dispatch requesting a shutdown. The on-site evacuation team issued a warning and isolation for the area, while the emergency rescue team carried out emergency repairs on the leaking pipeline. After a tense and orderly "emergency rescue" operation, the urgent danger of gas pipeline leakage was completely eliminated, and the drill achieved the expected results.
After the conclusion of the drill, Project Manager Sun Jianhua delivered a summary speech. He expressed that the emergency drill for natural gas leakage incidents was aimed at effectively strengthening the monitoring and maintenance management of the natural gas pipelines at the project. The goal was to enhance the ability of various departments to respond to emergencies. He emphasized the need for each department to reinforce the "two responsibilities" for safety production, deepen the investigation and rectification of hidden dangers, resolutely prevent the occurrence of major gas safety accidents, and further strengthen the horizontal communication between the emergency rescue command and management organization and functional departments, as well as the vertical communication between the organization and core rescue teams. He called for the implementation of effective measures to rigorously prevent the occurrence of secondary accidents.
This drill activity tested the practicality and reliability of the emergency response plan of the project, effectively enhancing the collaborative operational capabilities among various departments in dealing with various emergencies. It further elevated the emergency response and disposal capabilities of the project in gas safety. Next, taking this emergency drill as an opportunity, the project will continue to conduct in-depth safety hazard investigation and control work, fortify the defense line for safety production, and provide robust support for the safe and stable operation of the facilities.
