To further enhance the anti-terrorism awareness of all staff in the project and improve the emergency response capabilities of the project in dealing with terrorist attacks, on the afternoon of April 24th, the Malaysia Sabah Kibing O&M Project organized an emergency practical drill for anti-terrorism and disaster avoidance.

In this drill, two assailants climbed over the fence of the power plant and entered the plant area, wielding weapons as they suddenly intruded into the control room to vandalize equipment and facilities. Simulated exercises were conducted for emergency alert, personnel evacuation, and withdrawal. During the drill, participants immediately activated the emergency mechanism according to the emergency plan responsibilities of the project. Control room operators swiftly manually shut down the system and immediately sounded the alarm. Everyone evacuated to safety zones as instructed, awaiting rescue. Subsequently, the police arrived on the scene promptly and swiftly subdued the two assailants. After operational and maintenance personnel verified equipment functionality, they contacted dispatch to request unit startup. The drill concluded successfully.

Through this emergency drill, the scientific and effective nature of the project’s emergency plan was tested, effectively enhancing the project’s emergency response and coordination capabilities in the face of sudden events. This provides robust support for the subsequent safe production of the project.
