SA Ras Al Khair O&M Project finishes the peak load test of fire pump successfully

2021-12-13

At local time 10:45 of December 7, 2021, Saudi Arabia Ras Al Khair O&M Project finished the peak load test of fire pump successfully with the with the owner’s witness.
In order to ensure the smooth development of the test, in the early stage of the test, according to the flow of the three pumps, the project’s O&M team selected large flow points such as dike fire protection as the main area for spraying and relieving pressure, and set up several auxiliary pressure relief areas to prevent overpressure problems in the process of starting the three pumps at the same time. The O&M team also organized personnel to carry out a serious investigation on the operation status of all firefighting equipment on site, security risks in the fire zone and test safety risks, so as to minimize the uncontrollable risks of the test.
The successful completion of the test checked the regular calibration of the pressure chain instrument, proved to the owner that the equipment maintenance is in place and meets the standard requirements on the one hand, on the other hand, it has also verified that the automatic interlocking of the whole firefighting system has achieved the expected effect, ensuring that in extreme cases, the linkage of the standby pump is normal and the pressure of the firefighting water system could meet the requirements.
The successful completion and the single pump flow test and fuel tank water cannon test in the early stage showed that the fire water system under the management of Ras Al Khair runs reliably and has the ability of automatic fire alarm and spray. In the future, the O&M team will continue to carry forward the Iron Army working style, bravely undertake the responsibility, and do a good job in the follow-up O&M work of the unit to ensure the safe, stable and efficient operation of the unit.
