SA Ras Al Khair O&M Project finishes the job for 2021 Summer Peak

In accordance with Huafeng Weiye Company’s 2021 Summer Peak work deployment, SA Ras Al Khair O&M Project did a good job in epidemic prevention and control, went all out to ensure production and promote production to ensure the continuous safe and stable operation of the unit. As of October 31, 2021, the project has generated a total of 18.546 billion kWh of electricity and supplied 2.39 million tons of steam to the water plant side, successfully completed the task of 2021 Summer Peak.
The work was officially launched on May 15 of this year. During the period, the local water and electricity consumption did not decrease due to the outbreak of the epidemic while repeatedly broke through the plan and stayed at a high level for a long time. In addition, the entire plant’s units were affected by the continuous operation fatigue cycle needing maintenance and temporary defects elimination, which brought great challenges to the project.
Therefore, the project O&M team fully developed the spirit of Iron Army and took the site as the starting point to further strengthen the equipment inspection, spot inspection and regular maintenance to ensure the operation of the main and auxiliary equipment of the operating unit. At the same time, in accordance with the annual work plan, the unit maintenance and elimination work was steadily implemented, and a total of 7 units/times of large, medium and small unit repairs were completed, 8 scheduled overhauls of gas turbines, 31 scheduled overhauls of boilers, and 1 scheduled overhaul of steam turbine, to ensure a good and stable operating status of the unit, which laid a solid foundation for the successful completion of  the Summer Peak task, and also provided a guarantee for the long-term continuous safe and stable operation of the unit.
On November 6, 2021, the O&M team organized a Summer Peak summary and commendation meeting to summarize the work during the whole period, and the advanced developments that emerged during the summer peak, and the outstanding employees were also commended. At the meeting, Mr. Shen Mingliang, the O&M project manager, organized the heads of various departments to summarize the highlights and shortcomings of the work and made further arrangements for the implementation of the next year's operation and maintenance contract.
Firstly, the O&M team should continue to normalize the epidemic prevention and control and achieve both epidemic prevention and control and safe production and operation. Secondly, in the face of the new contracts, new requirements, new goals, and new owner management, the project should change its thinking, be pragmatic, and implement the tasks of the new operation and maintenance contract to ensure the smooth completion of contract performance. The third is to correctly understand the purpose and significance of foreign employee’s management, steadily promote the work in accordance with the implementation plan of Two Integration and Two Promotion to ensure the successful completion of the established goal of the project.
