In order to further implement the fire prevention work policy of “Putting prevention first and combining prevention and fire-fighting”, popularize firefighting knowledge, and ensure the safety of life and property of equipment and personnel in the area of the Thaketa Power Plant, on the morning of August 20, 2019, the Thaketa O&M project invited the local fire station and jointly organized a fire drill for the use of fire-fighting equipment. The manager from the owner side and the captain of the Thaketa Fire Brigade viewed the exercise.
The personnel from the fire brigade explained the types of fires, the structure of the fire extinguishers, the applicable scope of different fire extinguishers and their using methods, and the using methods and precautions of the fire hoses.
After that, under the guidance of the personnel from the fire brigade, 15 employees carried out the onsite fire drills. The captain of fire brigade gave hands-on guidance to the employees and corrected their movements and explained the fire parts that needed to be sprayed, so that everyone involved in the fire drill had a deep understanding of the use of fire extinguishers.
At the end of the exercise, Mr. Wang Jian, the secretary of the No.5 Party branch and the deputy manager of the Thaketa O&M Project, appreciated the fire brigade on behalf of the project.
This drill closely follows the actual situation of firefighting, further enhanced the proficiency of the staff in operating the firefighting equipment, and improved the ability of the staff to carry out firefighting and control loss and self-rescue in the face of sudden fire accidents, which provide a stronger guarantee to the staff’s personal safety.
