In order to further improve the level of project safety production work and implement the main responsibility of work safety, Myanmar Kyaukpyu O&M Project organized a series of activities for Work Safety Month.

Based on the monthly arrangement of safety activities and the actual situation of the local rainy season in Myanmar, on June 17, 2023, the project organized a random flood prevention emergency drill activity without prior notice or plan simulation. During the drill, when the operating personnel inspected the comprehensive water pump room, they found a malfunction in the drainage pump in the trench, causing rainwater to leak into the trench of the comprehensive water pump room. The water level below the foundation of each water pump continued to rise, threatening the safe operation of various rotating equipment. The duty operator immediately reported to the shift leader, who immediately reported to the deputy project manager, and simultaneously notified the maintenance and operation department heads to request the organization of personnel for emergency work. The deputy project manager immediately coordinated with various departments to initiate emergency response plans, and each emergency team rushed to the site to carry out emergency rescue and emergency response. The drill was conducted in a random emergency response manner on site. After the drill, the deputy project manager commented on the drill and emphasized that the random drill method made the emergency drill work truly applicable to on-site practice. On the one hand, it is necessary to fully prepare emergency supplies and tools to improve quick response ability, and on the other hand, it is necessary to further enhance the sense of urgency of emergency rescue, enhance safety awareness, practice more, and meet the requirements of preventing such incidents and emergency response.

Based on the key fire prevention characteristics of gas power plants, combined with the continuous heavy rainfall since the main flood season in Myanmar and the recent occurrence of snakes, mice, and other situations in the project distribution room, the project organized a monthly safety production hazard investigation and management activity, compiled and revised a series of plans and systems, and organized various departments of the project to focus on flood prevention and control, material warehouse fire prevention, and control major safety inspections such as animal damage prevention in the distribution room, with a focus on inspecting the wiring of electrical and I&C outdoor equipment in the factory area, rain protection at measurement points, operation of drainage pumps in various locations, flammable and explosive placement issues in the material warehouse, and overall sealing of the distribution room for rain and fire prevention. Specific preventive measures had been studied and developed. A rectification notice had been issued for existing problems, specifying the rectification deadline, assigning responsibilities to individuals, and effectively eliminating safety hazards.
