Philippines San Marcelino & Lal-lo Solar PV O&M Project Organised an Emergency Drill for Heat Stroke Incidents
2024-05-17
As the Philippines enters the high-temperature season, the risk of heat stroke among frontline workers is increasing. To test the scientific and effective nature of the project's emergency plan and to enhance employees' emergency response capabilities in extreme heat conditions, the Philippines San Marcelino & Lal-lo Solar PV O&M Project organized a heat stroke emergency rescue drill on May 17.
The drill simulated a scenario where a maintenance worker suddenly experienced heat stroke during an inspection. Upon discovering the situation, onsite personnel immediately notified the safety management personnel. After receiving the report, the safety management personnel promptly activated the emergency plan and alerted an ambulance to head to the scene. Rescue personnel quickly arrived at the location, moved the heat stroke victim to a shaded area, and administered emergency treatments such as physical cooling and anti-heat medications. Subsequently, the heat stroke victim gradually regained consciousness and was out of life-threatening danger, after which they were transported by ambulance to the medical room for further treatment. After the drill, all departments summarized the exercise, thoroughly analyzing the issues and shortcomings encountered during the drill and proposed improvement measures. The drill concluded successfully.
The conduct of this drill further enhanced the project’s emergency response capabilities in handling heat stroke incidents. It also strengthened the heat prevention and cooling safety awareness among all professional personnel, providing reliable assurance for the project's safe production during the upcoming summer season.
