To rigorously implement the requirements outlined in the "Notice on Further Strengthening the Social Security Management of Overseas Projects”, and effectively manage overseas security affairs at the current stage, firmly preventing and controlling various safety incidents, on May 7th, Myanmar Thaketa O&M Project organized an emergency drill for incidents involving terrorism.

In this drill scenario, with the backdrop of extremist infiltration through the central gate of the factory premises, the security team leader detected the entry of terrorists into the factory area who subsequently threw an incendiary device. Immediately, the security team leader reported the incident to the project and alerted the authorities. Following the contingency plan, all security personnel from the project swiftly cordoned off the area, evacuated onlookers, issued warnings to deter the terrorists, and delayed to await reinforcements. Subsequently, the police arrived at the scene, and the project’s security team, in coordination with the police, swiftly moved in and subdued the terrorists, removing them from the premises. Finally, participants employed fire extinguishers and hoses to extinguish the fire caused by the incendiary device. The entire drill proceeded in an intense yet orderly manner, with clear division of roles among participants, prompt reactions, and seamless coordination, successfully accomplishing the evacuation and fire suppression tasks, thus achieving the desired outcome of the drill.

This drill effectively enhanced the project’s emergency response capability and coordinated combat capability in the face of sudden incidents. In the next step, the project will closely monitor the security situation in the surrounding areas, continue to strengthen on-site security control measures, rigorously implement various security measures, further improve the level of security management, and ensure the safe and efficient operation of the project units.
