Iraq Salah Al-Din O&M Project completed the urgent repair to ensure power supply

At 20:29 on June 24, after three-day continuous work, Iraq Salah Al-Din O&M Project successfully completed the urgent repair task of the No.4 bearing of #1, and the unit successfully connected to grid with all qualified indicators and parameters, adding great power to win the battle of Summer Peak.

Since the shutdown of #1 due to the increase in bearing temperature, various specialties of the project had been always paying attention to the site, according to the maintenance measures and technical plan, fulfilled their respective duties and worked together, raced against time to promote the urgent repair work, and won valuable time for the early restoration of power supply to the unit.

Since June, the project conscientiously implemented various work arrangements for Summer Peak, made power supply guarantee the "first work, first task, and first responsibility", and made every effort to ensure the power generation. The O&M team integrated the lean concept throughout the entire process of unit operation and adjustment, and effectively ensured the safe and stable operation of the unit through measures such as strengthening duty discipline, optimizing operation methods, meticulous monitoring and control, and strengthening inspection. At the same time, in combination with the deployment of Safety Production Month, the project carried out high-quality work such as hazard investigation, maintenance and repair as well as defect treatment to eliminate equipment risks and hazards, improve equipment operation efficiency and guarantee the critical moments.

During this period, the O&M team strictly implemented the equipment defect management system, following the principle of "minor defects do not exceed the shift, major defects do not exceed the day", and carried out defect elimination work during low load periods such as nighttime, further consolidated the foundation of power supply.

With the operation of #1, the two units of the project are operating once again with full capacity and in full mode to ensure power supply. Next, the project will continue to increase efforts to ensure power supply, guide the staff to unite and work together, tap into the potential of unit operation, make every effort to ensure the power demand of the Iraqi power grid, and make more contribution to winning the battle of Summer Peak.
