Success on Heat Rate Reform Test of Pakistan GHCL Project
The testing team of Pakistan GHCL heat rate reform project successfully finished the tests of #1, #2 and #3 of MUZAFFARGARH PHASE III within one week on October 25th, 27th and 29th, which broke the record of finishing the test in the company.
The MUZAFFARGARH power station is composed by 6 ST sets, and the total installed capacity is 1350MW. The units were put into operation from 1993 to 1997. The #1, #2 and #3 are oil and gas double fueled units assisted by Russia. Since the units have been operating more than 20 years, the devices are really old without online meters but with many broken measuring points, the tests faced many difficulties.
In order to finish the tests, the team prepared a lot on gathering related materials, making temporary measuring points and adjusting the units with the owner’s support. The #3 should be shut before 00:30, and the team successfully finished the heat rate test at 00:15 and the vacuum leakage test within the rest 10 minutes. The #3 finished its task and was shut on time.
Finishing the tests makes the owner really satisfied and adds a new testing record to the company. Next, the project staffs will work harder to make more contribution to the company.
